Est\u00e1 ubicado en un edificio neocl\u00e1sico de tres plantas, propiedad de la familia Kalokairinos, y representa un elemento importante de la historia y tradici\u00f3n de Creta. Consta de 12 salas que muestran la evoluci\u00f3n de la civilizaci\u00f3n cretense, desde la \u00e9poca cristiana hasta el siglo XX.
